Buying CVV Data Online: Legal Risk and Scam Reality

The short answer

This site does not publish a buyer's guide for CVV data. A CVV is the 3 or 4 digit code printed on a payment card. Sellers who advertise CVV numbers in bulk, with instant delivery, are selling data taken from cardholders who did not authorize the sale. Buying that data is a federal crime in the United States.

The statute

18 U.S.C. § 1029 covers fraud and related activity in connection with access devices. Subsection (a)(3) makes it a crime to knowingly and with intent to defraud traffic in one or more access devices. A card number, expiration date, and CVV together form an access device. Penalties reach 15 years in prison and fines under 18 U.S.C. § 3571. Sentences increase when the offense involves 15 or more devices.

What buyers actually receive

Most listings on Telegram channels, dark web forums, and throwaway sites take payment in crypto and deliver nothing. There is no refund path, no chargeback, and no seller identity to pursue. Buyers who do receive working numbers expose themselves to two losses: the payment, and a criminal record.

How to Get Instant CVV Delivery from a Website

Cardholder protection

Federal law limits a cardholder's liability for unauthorized charges to $50, and the major card networks set it at $0 in practice. The loss lands on the merchant, the issuer, or both. That is why card networks run fraud monitoring and why stolen numbers stop working within hours.

What to do instead

If you need to accept card payments, use a licensed processor and follow PCI DSS. If you want to buy something online, use your own card. If your own card data was exposed, report it at IdentityTheft.gov and to your issuer. Parameters for buying stolen card data are not published here, at any price.
